Recognized as the leading master of Dzogchen in his time, Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche Jigdral Yeshe Dorje (1904–1987) also earned recognition as an exceptional teacher, a prolific scholar, and a treasure revealer (terton). He was renowned for his talents in literary composition and poetry, his extensive knowledge of metaphysics and philosophy, and his command of sutra and tantra. Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche taught and transmitted Dharma throughout Tibet, Nepal, India, Bhutan, and countries in the West, and at the request of His Holiness the Dalai Lama assumed the role as the supreme head of the Nyingma lineage in exile. Based on ancient prophecies, he is believed to have been the regent of Guru Padmasambhava, his representative in our time.
