Quan Yin, also referred to as Avalokiteshvara (Skt.) or Chenrezig (Tib.), is the highly revered bodhisattva of great compassion.  Hand selected for its exquisite detail and expert craftsmanship, in this sculpture Quan Yin appears standing on a stainless lotus with eleven heads and multiple arms.  Each hand possesses intricately crafted removable dharma implements which symbolize the various compassionate methods Quan Yin uses to liberate sentient beings from the six realms of samsara.  Quan Yin's face is painted with 24 kt gold and the removable back nimbus is beautifully carved with majestic floral designs.
