Arya Tara (Tib. Jetsun Drolma), the iconic goddess of compassion, is a yidam, or personal meditation deity whose crown is adorned with Amitabha, the Buddha of Infinite Light.  White Tara is a symbol of peace and prosperity whose protection grants freedom from fears, the pacification of afflictions, and the blessings of health and longevity.  It is believed that anyone who supplicates White Tara will be granted good fortune and the blessings of longevity, with protection from an untimely death.
