It is believed that Green Tara's love and care for sentient beings bestows swift protection from fear whenever one thinks of her or utters her mantra. In this thanka, eight Green Tara manifestations grant protection from fear, especially fear that arises due to natural disasters and environmental imbalances. Green Tara's crown is adorned by the lotus Buddha Amitabha.
